Villa Mahogany - complete description
Hide away from the crowded place and deep in the hearth of Bali, perched on a beautiful landscape at the bank of Pakerisan River (registered in world heritage museum), is the stunning hideaway known as The Mahogany Villa. The architecture is set in combination of a real Asian and Bali style in strategic positions of the river bank. The villa comprises 2000 square meters of covered area and it is set in 1000 square meters of tropical and terrace landscape garden replete with cascading ornamental pool.
This is the hidden paradise! It is definitely not luxury but here you can feel the real peace of Bali!
From the parking area, you have to walk through lava stone path. You can feel a strong feeling of old Bali and a real Bali experience. An old style Balinese traditional gate with old antique door under a big tree is the first impressive object you will see. What a strong impression. Following the steps, plantation on your left and right side, you will arrive at the compound which consists of two main building (each with a bedroom), a Bale Kulkul, a Bale Utan and a Bale Sungai. Surrounded by forest, with great view to the forest over the river, the villa is definitely the real place to experience Bali's real life.
Master Room
A wide semi open room furnished with a wooden door and glasses surround. It is located on lower level than the guest room. It gives you a wide range of green view of the forest while on bed, completed with a natural bathroom with bathtub, and a modern kitchen. The kitchen can be directly be accessed from the bedroom. Spacious room of 100 sqm with king size bed.
Guest Room
The bedrooms have custom made oversized king beds. Often overlooked in tropical homes, all bedrooms have good quality curtains. The bedroom interiors have been tastefully furnished with a balance of typical wood and collected antique furniture and artifacts.Enjoy the privacy and exclusiveness of a private retreat in the fresh and cool climate from the guest house. This bedroom has direct access to the swimming pool.
Bale Kulkul
This small structure is located right after the entrance gate. It is actually a water tower, but on a brillian hand of good architect, its appearance is changed into Bale Kulkul, a wooden-bell tower.
Bale Utan
Bale Utan is Indonesian word for 'jungle lounge'. It is located on the southwest corner of the property, with open view to the verdant forest of the Pakerisan river. It serves as open style dining area where you can have your breakfast, lunch and dinner. But of course you can allways use the " jungle lounge " for reading books for relaxing and meditation.
Bale Sungai
Bale Sungai is the Indonesian word for river lounge. It is located at the lowest part of the property which can be reached from the Bale Utan through steps down. You have to walk very carefully and slowly. On rainy season, we do not recommend you to go to this Bale. From the Bale Sungai, you can listen to the whisper or the mighty sound (after rain) of the holy river Pakerisan. The name for the very well known balinese dagger "kris" ( pakrisan) is adapted from this river with many curves. You can have your fife o'clock tea there.
Ground And Pool
The villa has tropical garden, with lotus pond on its end. Although the garden is small, however the villa itself looks stand within huge garden (verdant forest surrounding). Relax in the little refreshing pool with the overlooking view and forget the public overcrowded beaches and pools in other parts of Bali.
